Sale West Community Urban Trust IS A REGISTERED CHARITY WHICH WAS SET UP TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN SALE WEST AND THE SURROUNDING AREA.

WE BELIEVE THAT STRONGER FAMILIES PRODUCE STRONGER AND HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES.

Sale West Community Urban Trust works with Sale West Community Church and other partners in the community to enable families and children to reach their full potential. It does this by supporting community activities and events and more recently by engaging in the ROC + COACH Community Mentoring Programme (which has been awarded the NCVO Approved Provider Standard - a national quality standard for mentoring and befriending projects).

We see community mentoring as a way of supporting local families through difficult situations they may be facing. Our volunteer mentors are drawn from St Mary Magdalene with Sale West Community Church. They are carefully screened trained, and supervised.

We employ two Children and Families Workers: Carol and Shauna.

Carol is our ROC+COACH Community Mentoring Programme Coordinator. She is an advocate for children and their families and works closely with the community and partner organisations to identify and match: families who may benefit from mentoring support with local trained volunteer mentors.

Shauna is responsible for developing church and community activities which support children and families in Sale West. She co-ordinates the running of children’s work on a Sunday morning at Sale West Community Church and visits local schools and engages with students. Shauna also assists with running the Cave youth club, in partnership with Trafford Youth For Christ which is held on a Thursday night on the Sale West estate.
